How often are you updating your social media presence?

I get asked how often to post on social media - It's a tricky question that depends on your business type, target audience, and the platform you're using.  To help you out, here's a quick cheat sheet of general guidelines for popular social media platforms:

Facebook:

1-3 times per day is a good starting point. Posting too frequently may lead to decreased engagement.

X (Twitter):

Due to the fast-paced nature of X, multiple posts per day are common. 3-7 posts per day can be effective.

Instagram:

3-5 posts per week is a good baseline. Consistency and quality are more important than quantity.

LinkedIn:

2-5 times per week is often recommended for business-related content. Focus on professional and industry-specific content.

Pinterest:

3-30 pins per day can be effective. Consistent pinning is important for visibility.

YouTube:

1-3 videos per week is a good starting point. Consistency and quality are crucial for video content.

It's not all about how much you post, but how valuable and exciting it is that counts! Consistency is key, but you gotta deliver the goods. Plus, don't forget to look around and find out when your target audience is most likely to be online to get maximum impact.

ALSO: Keep an eye on those social media stats to see if you're hitting the mark and if you're not, don't be afraid to mix things up and try something new.  At the end of the day, your people and industry are unique, so experiment and find what floats their boat!
